Grobbelaar’s experience includes being DC Manager of Takealot.com’s 30 000 m2 Johannesburg distribution centre, reporting to the National Operations Manager in Cape Town. Here he was responsible for full warehouse and operations management together with strategic management of all warehousing functions and continuous improvement projects, in line with the company’s vision and objectives.
He oversaw receiving, putaway, picking, packing and dispatch functions, as well as inventory control upwards of 350 000 Stock Keeping Units (SKUs), comprising of around 900 000 items. Prior to that, Grobbelaar was Warehouse Team Leader for the Logistics Department at PFG Building Glass, where he was charged with industrial engineering functions.
BI’s main industry focus is the automotive, OEM, and aftermarket sectors in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and other countries within Sub-Saharan Africa. “With our extensive network of more than 47 branches, we support clients in most major cities. However, where the Hudaco Group expands through acquisitions, we will be willing to look into those areas of opportunity,” BI CEO Burtie Roberts explains.
“We are focused on transforming our organisation through cost optimisation and increasing operational efficiency.
